5 ways to unlock main character energy
We’ve all heard of main character energy. And if you haven’t, it’s basically the idea that we play the leading role in our own lives, and are the main character in our story. Just like you root for the protagonist of your fave movie or TV show… you should be rooting for yourself gf!
I know this is easier said than done, which is why I’ve put together a list of my top 5 ways you can start to bring more main character energy into your life!
Get clear on your values and goals
- A girly with main character energy knows what she wants
- She backs herself and has clear values
- Take some time to reflect on your current goals and make sure they align with who you want to be!
Celebrate your smallest wins
- Small victories are worth celebrating gf!
- Give yourself credit for your wins no matter how small they are
Romanticise mundane tasks (eg. cooking/cleaning)
- When you love the main character of a movie…no scene is boring (even if they’re just cleaning the house)
- Level up your every day by romanticising small tasks such as cooking, showering, or running errands
- Here are some examples:
- Playing music while you clean the house
- Lighting candles while you shower/do your skincare
- Drinking your morning coffee from a cute mug
Be kind to yourself
- When the main character makes a mistake… you forgive them and accept that it’s part of their story!
- Start doing the same thing to yourself gf
- Your life would make a pretty boring movie if everything was perfect all the time!
- Accept that you are human and will likely make mistakes at times
- Use these as learning experiences and remember life happens for you, not to you
Prioritise time for you!
- Remember, self-care is not selfish!
- You can’t pour from an empty cup, so it’s important to make time for yourself and do things that bring you joy and give you energy so that you can show up as the best version of you!
